This excellent blog post by Mark Baddeley on creation really made me think hard about self-control, and why we should be self-disciplined in our enjoyment of the good things God made. Like me, he argues that the point of self-control is not ascetic self-denial, but love.
But unlike me, he puts this the context of the last days.We use and enjoy the things of this world, but we don't serve them, cling to them, or stuff ourselves with them. For we belong to heaven, not to this earth, and that's where our treasure lies. This ended up being an unplanned cutback week, due to some stupid bug.

When Heathcliff, a mysterious child is rescued and brought to Wuthering Heights, he develops an inseparable bond to Cathy. Their friendship soon develops into a passionate and iconic love, which spans generations and ends with tragic results. Therefore now we have both a Jane Eyre and a Wuthering Heights running out at the London stage. A study described in last week's Science Daily points to a problem that has been troubling me about diabetes research: the way that research relies on rodent models that are built on false assumptions about the human diseases they are supposed to model. You can read about the study describing severe problems with the mouse model for Muscular Dystrophy here:Science Daily: Mice Holding Back Muscular Dystrophy Research? It explains that. This is bad news for people who have been waiting for scientists to find treatments for DMD but this kind of problem is not limited to research on DMD. A small group of highly respected scientists have built their careers around their knowledge of these particular mice and rats and sent their students out into the academic world where they have spread the use of these rodent models. Patent attorneys, patent agents and paralegals will find these webinars very useful and will be able to manage their patent prosecution in a more effective and efficient way. By:LegalAdvantage. I figured last Halloween would be the last time I got to choose the girls' Halloween costumes. Boy was I right! Holland initially wanted to be Spiderman, so I bought the costume. The following week when we went to get Eden's pink fairy costume, Holland said, "I changed my mind" and wanted to be Tinkerbell. After buying the costumes Holland vacillated back and forth between Spiderman and Tink. She chose Spiderman for a pre-Halloween party at Ben and Kiera's house. I had no idea what she would decide in the end. Eden was dead set from the beginning on being Echo Bubblebutton, the pink fairy that she created online. I was surprised when she chose to be Minnie for the pre-party. She never wavered from the fairy costume for the BIG day. I admit that I talked up the fairy costumes the week before Halloween. Thursday after school I raked a big pile of leaves into our front yard and we had a blast playing in them for HOURS. This would be my reply if I were ever asked to send catechists to the annual Los Angeles Religious Education Congress held in Anaheim. Take a look at the speaker list. Trust me, it's worth it.Just did another live broadcast from TVA here in Montreal.
Apparently they can't get enough of the "trombone rouge" guy.But I came back and rocked the interview a lot better this time. My favorite part is when Colin Pearson's written-in-english one red paperclip Akward Pause cartoon appears on the screen. So good.

Long before my Daddy developed Alzheimer's, he decided that he wanted to save something special for me that I would enjoy in the future. So he took a cardboard box and filled it with things that I could go through after he was gone. He sealed the box with packing tape and told my Mom to keep it for me. Mom told me about the box after Daddy died. I knew that nothing in the box was time sensitive because Mom explained that the contents could be viewed whenever I was ready. I was very close to my Daddy and I waited a long time to open the box. I wanted to be clear headed and ready. That is what helped us to live 'easier' now.
But easier doesn't mean you give up 'simple'.it makes living 'simply' easier! That hit the nail on the head for me and it helps to clarify the point that simple life isn't only about frugality and paying off debt.
Money isn't, and shouldn't be, the main focal point of life. However, if you have debt it will stop you living the life you want because your efforts will be directed towards paying off your debt instead of living your life fully. Debt reduction and not gaining more debt is part of simple life, but it's just one of many parts that make up how we live. Had we still been in debt when I realised I was burnt out and wanted to stop work, I would not have been able to do what I did. I would have continued working until it was paid off. Luckily we were debt-free, so I had the self-indulgent luxury of giving up work to find a better way to live. Square Consumer Products Ltd. S. C. I'm a solo homesteader at the moment. When I got back from the airport and a visit to Shane and Sarndra in their new home, I took my camera into the backyard when I let the chooks out to free range. Naturally, I took photos of them scrambling for the bread I gave them, but I wanted to show you our fenced garden. I'm sure you often notice the fences in my photos but I rarely write about them, even though they a vital part of our backyard. Here are some orange tulips in honor of Bonnie's ORANGE CRUSH MYSTERY. Must have been a slow day in the world of Albany politics for Jim Odato and the Times Union when they filed a Freedom of Information request to find out who is paying what for box seats at Saratoga. Or, maybe Odato was just endeavoring to dig up some more dirt on NYRA, as he is wont to do. - A website has posted what appears to be a legit link to a story which reports that the Meadowlands and Monmouth are considering Michael Dickinson's Tapeta surface for their tracks. And apparently, synthetic surfaces are not just for thoroughbreds. Perhaps someone from the Elias Sports Bureau can tell us when was the last time that seven and eight-year old siblings won stakes races in the same month. You can see that she tied some May Arts Natural Burlap String and the closure includes Ivory Grosgrain and luscious Pink Aster Seam Binding. There's also some Raspberry Baker's Twine tied around and around and around the bottom right. The bags are covered in patterned papers, a doily, and lots of embellishments. .
